Rocky Side Zipper Jump Boot is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent boot but needs some better snaps I have had 4 pair of these boots in my 18 year career and I really love them but there is room for improvement. Every pair I have had fails in the same place! The snaps that hold the leather flap over the zipper at the top have broken within a year. Either the rivet breaks or the snap comes off of the boot. For a $130 boot, I expect better. As for comfort, they are ok. I put an Arriat Boot Co. insert in them for better comfort and that seems to make them just right for me. I have decided that the expense and repeated failure of the boot in the same area is no longer worth my time and money. Bates has an identical boot for $20 less, I'll give them a shot this time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very unhappy today these boots arrived at my door, i was very excited to get my first pair of paratrooper boots. Well imagine my surprise when i opened my box and found that the snaps, don't even line up at all, the zipper doesn't go far enough down to even get my foot in and out while it's laced (i work ems i need to be able to get them on and off in seconds). They were scuffed up just from taking the plastic bag off them. And there "comfort sole" is non existant. The leather compared to my Alpha force is a cheap knock off. I'm very unhappy with these boots as I had so much higher expectations from rocky, a company where I've been doing business for years with. I think it's time to switch to bates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be patient After the first couple days I was getting bummed that I had spent a lot if money on boots I couldn't wear. They felt big and clunky, stiff, and killed my inner ankle bones. I stopped wearing them for a week and let my ankles heal\toughen up. I wasn't gonna give in easy so I put them back on but looser. Over the next week I tightened them lil by lil and put in a quality insole. Now, I wouldn't take any other boot in this style. They are not ready to wear outa the box for the weak willed. You just gotta be tougher than they are....I would, however, feel a lil better if the zippers weren't plastic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible The boot looks great. That's about it. The zipper sticks frequently. And the boot is the most uncomfortable boot I've ever worn. I've been wearing Rocky's for years on duty. I will NEVER buy this boot again. Been wearing it for 3 months waiting for it to break in and it hasn't. I have to wrap my feet behind the heel to avoid blisters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loyal customer left disappointed... I have been buying boots from Rocky since 2009 and have been completely satisfied until now. I serve on the tactical squad in the Illinois D.O.C. and purchased these boot a little over a year and a half ago. They arrived in great condition and I have had nothing to complain about until today. We were going through situational drills when the heel cap on my left boot tore. It didn't blow out the seam or come unstitched, the leather tore just below the seam in about a 2-3" tear! I was stunned! I bought these boots off of the recommendations of some of my fellow officers who love them. I have never so much as broken a lace on a pair of Rocky's before and I am very disappointed with this pair of boots. I am just glad it happened during drills and not the real thing. These boots are OK if you are just using them for walking around in or in a patrol setting, but I cannot recommend them for any heavier applications. I will not be buying any more duty boots from Rocky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot! I've owned 3 pair and now going on my 4th pair. Usually get 2-years out of them and then the sole/tread starts to deteriorate. Work as a firefighter so these boots get used a lot as well as being taken on and off a bunch. Zippers/snaps have always held up for me. Guess it's just how you treat them maybe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Older Paratrooper velcro were way better I had the older....when I say older I mean around 2009 with the Velcro connections at the top of the zipper. Those Rocky's were awesome and I have no complaints on those. I purchased a new pair in 2013 and I still wear them to this day. I work in Corrections and I'm walking 13 hours a day. Well, the newer ones wreck havoc just above my heel. These boots have made blue calluses the size of golf balls behind my ankle. I can't wear flip flops in public because of the damage these boots have done to my skin.
